REVIEW: Bar Crusher 575C
I have had my 575C for just over a year now, mostly fishing in Port Philip Bay and Western Port. After seeing how busy the local boat ramps can be during good weather weekends I soon got quite comfortable heading out in conditions that would see most people staying at home.
The Bar Crusher has always made me feel confident no matter what the conditions are like, and Port Philip Bay can produce some very uncomfortable chop in the blink of an eye. When sitting at anchor in windy conditions just pulling the hardtop down makes the world of difference, keeping the elements at bay.
These boats are really set up well for fishing. The standard rod holders are positioned perfectly for trolling with different angles allowing for a good spread, they are made to last and will handle the biggest fish. I made my own snapper racks to plug into the existing rod holders so I can set the boat up for my different needs quickly and easily. I didn’t need to drill any additional holes in the boat to give the support and there is a gate to suit the walk through transom.
The layout of Bar Crusher boats gives you plenty of storage whether it's your fresh catch in the large kill tank or your sleeping bag in the under bunk area. Having the bunk infill has also seen me spending a few nights snug in the cabin and ready for the next day's fishing. Large gunwales make for easy boarding and a great seat when enjoying the sunshine.
In the past year I have clocked up over 200 hours on the whisper quiet Suzuki 115, which provides plenty of power for the 575C. It’s always good to know you have enough power up your sleeve when you need it. With the 110L fuel tank you know you have plenty of capacity for longer trips and the economy of the Suzuki makes it go even further.
The last year has seen some great times on the water thanks to my 575C, and I love it.
