Marine industry jobs: boat building, fit-out and assembly

Working in the fit-out and assembly department at Bar Crusher Boats you’ll be supporting the team in building our range of premium-quality plate aluminium boats.

Receiving boats from the paint department, the fit-out team is responsible for wiring, plumbing, glazing and fitting of all accessories.

ABOUT THE JOB

Some typical tasks carried out in the fit-out department include:

• Fitting wiring looms, lighting and electrical accessories
• Fitting plumbing, hoses and pumps
• Fitting windows, glass and hatches
• Fitting marine electronics
• Making sub-assemblies and parts
• Fitting seating and upholstery
• Fitting carpet lining
• Fitting various other accessories (involving bolting, screwing, riveting, gluing)
• Applying vinyl graphics to boats

ABOUT YOU

To work in our fit-out department you’ll have experience using hand tools. You may also have experience fitting automotive accessories, boat fit-out or caravan fit-out or in another environment that’s required good hand-fitting and assembly skills.

You are a person who enjoys a variety of tasks and has an eye for detail.

Successful candidates will also be trained in learning the various tasks.

Essential requirements

• You must be physically fit and able to step in and out of boats
• You’re reliable and punctual
• You’re able to communicate well with others
• Your resume has a good reference(s) and history that demonstrates a solid work ethic in your previous roles
